To provide our clients with the greatest amount of security
coverage for the minimum cost, SPS has adopted the Patrol
Model of Security Enforcement. An extensive study of policing
in the mid-west demonstrated that saturating an area with
police officers does not decrease the number of calls for service from that area. Utilizing this information for the security industry, it becomes apparent that by placing a stationary security officer at a client's property will not significantly decrease incidents on that property. Therefore, SPS has implemented the Patrol Model in which Security Officers are assigned to a Patrol Sector, rather then to individual properties, utilizing the following models:
Standard Patrol Service
Security Officers conduct continuous patrol of clients’ properties in fully-marked Ford Crown
While the Patrol Model allows for SPS to provide the greatest amount of security coverage at a minimal cost to our clients, the key to providing for the security of a clients property is through the implementation of the COP’s philosophy of security, which not only dictates what actions are taken by the security officers once a crime has been committed, but also directs security officers on how to act proactively to prevent criminal activity. By utilizing the Patrol Model and COP’s philosophy, SPS is able to provide you property with the greatest amount of coverage for the least amount of expense and actually reduce the amount of criminal activity on your property, instead of merely responding to crimes once they have occurred.
Standard Patrol Service packages are based upon the number of patrols per shift and the size of the client’s property. The standard patrol of a client’s property encompasses a combination of vehicle and foot patrol of the property, lasting between 15-20 minutes for properties of less than 300 residential units and up to 45-60 minutes for properties with more then 600 residential units. All Patrol Services include unlimited response to calls for security service, conducting nightly locks/unlocks of site amenities, enforcement of all client rules and regulations, including parking enforcement and the citing/removal of illegally parked/abandoned vehicles, and computer-generated nightly patrol reports and incident reports on all activity occurring on the client’s property, e-mailed directly to the client on a daily basis.
Neighborhood Patrol Service (NPS)
The security issues faced by our client’s properties are often the result of issues affecting the community as a whole. Often, properties a afflicted with "bleed over" from neighboring properties, which affects their safety and security. It is the goal of SPS to provide for the safety and security of the community as a whole, not merely our client’s properties.
To accomplish this goal, SPS has created the Neighborhood Patrol Service (NPS). By utilizing the NPS, SPS works in a cooperative effort with several neighboring properties in a small geographic area. These properties receive a dedicated SPS patrol unit to provide security services 12-hours a night between the hours of 6:00 pm and 6:00 am, seven (7) nights a week. By working in cooperation with neighboring properties, SPS is able to not only address security issues on your property, but also to provide for the security or the community as a whole.
The NPS requires a cooperative agreement between multiple properties in a given geographic area. The greater the number of properties that participate in the NPS, the lower the cost for each client. On average, an NPS consisting of only four (4) properties would equal a monthly savings of greater then 25% off the cost of an "industry standard" security service consisting of only eight (8) hours of coverage per night, with a 33% increase in nightly security coverage.
Dedicated Patrol Service (DPS)
For those clients seeking the highest level of security protection, SPS offers our Dedicated Patrol Service (DPS). Like the NPS, clients who chose the DPS receive a dedicated SPS patrol unit to provide security services up to 12-hours a night between the hours of 6:00 pm and 6:00 am, seven (7) nights a week.
SPS understands that the financial considerations involved in utilizing the DPS often limit a client to only a few hours of coverage per night. To accommodate our clients, the DPS program has been designed to operate within the same nightly service hours as our Standard Patrol Models. Therefore, while you property may only have the financial resources to utilize our services four (4) hours a night, SPS can distribute these services throughout the night, in one-hour increments, to provide your property the greatest level of security coverage for the least amount of cost to your property. In essence, a property can receive 12-hours of coverage per night and only pay for four (4) hours of service.
Response Patrol Service (RPS)
SPS also understands that for some client’s, the need for security services may be limited to a response basis only. For these clients, SPS has created the Response Patrol Service (RPS). As with all of the Patrol Services, the RPS offers the availability of our highly trained SPS Patrol Officers between the hours of 6:00 pm and 6:00 am, seven (7) nights a week. The RPS provides the client with a minimum of one (1) nightly patrol of the property to conduct lock-ups of site amenities at a specified time. Patrol officers will conduct a through patrol of the property to identify maintenance/safety hazards, parking issues and to deter criminal activity.
In addition to the nightly patrol, the RPS also provides the client and the residents unlimited access to SPS officers to respond to any call for service during our patrol hours, to include suspicious persons and/or activities, maintenance issues and lock-out, parking violations, and other resident concerns*. Additionally, by utilizing SPS as the primary responder for all on-site alarm activations, the RPS can actually save the client unnecessary expenditures associated with accidental alarm activations which result in the response of law enforcement to your property which may result in billing from the city/county of up to $250.00 per response.
And unlike the majority of the "industry standard" companies providing response-only service, the RPS includes a detailed nightly patrol activity report detailing all calls for service and activities noted by SPS officers on your property, as well as detailed incident reports for all major occurrences on the property.
* RPS call responses are limited to ten (10) calls for service per month; additional service responses will be billed at a minor fee.
